Hello, my name is Vancort Richards and I am a tattoo artist here at Slave to the Needle. I specialize in oriental and American traditional, but consider myself very well rounded in all styles. I have been tattooing since 1995. The first few years were out of my own shop in my hometown of Kennewick, Wa. , then soon realized I needed to be in the city to further grow as an artist.

I was already familiar with Seattle from living here when I received my art degree from the art institute and really liked the culture and diversity that Seattle has to offer. I have been tattooing here now since 1999 and am thoroughly enjoying the experience. It's very refreshing to be working here at Slave to the Needle with such a positive and talented group of people. I am very grateful for being able to be an active participant in the artistic evolution of tattooing.
